Our Story
Our story dates all the way back to 1971 when Raffi Meguerditchian got his first job as a jeweler in Beirut’s renowned gold souk in Downtown at $8 per month.Â
During his time there, he learned every aspect of the jewelry business and worked to ultimately raise his monthly salary up to $188. It was at that time, in 1977, that he made his first jewelry investment by purchasing two 1-carat diamonds. He recalls this event as being the beginning of his journey as a diamond and colored stone dealer, and of course, the beginning of his legacy.
Raffi is an entrepreneur at heart with an undeniable passion for jewelry. Throughout the years, he has actively looked for ways to grow his business and jewelry footprint. In 1981, he opened a jewelry manufacturing plant. And in 1992, he opened his first retail jewelry store and named it after his daughter, Elsa.Â
In 2014, Raffi’s son, Etien, graduated from GIA Thailand in Bangkok. He earned 3 certificates after completing three GIA programs: Graduate Gemologist, Graduate Diamonds, and Graduate Colored Stones. Upon graduation, Etien took the initiative to expand the family business further by opening a wholesale diamond and colored stone store and named it Meg Gems.
Just a few years later, in 2017, the family opened yet another store. This time a wholesale mounting store and called it Meg Jewellery.
The Meguerditchian family has had the opportunity, and pleasure, to gain expertise in every avenue of the jewelry business which allows them to transform every and any jewelry concept you might have into reality.
In this family-owned business, they have an all-hands-on-deck approach where each family member has a unique and active role to play. Everyone works hand in hand and has contributed to helping the business become the reputable brand it is known to be today.

For over 5 decades, our family has been committed to creating timeless yet unique high-end jewelry that can be passed on from generation to generation.Â
All of our jewelries are handmade in Beirut and are strictly made of high quality materials. All diamond and gems used in our jewelry are either GIA certified, HRD certified or certified by our in-house GIA gemologist. Additionally, we use 18K Gold in all of our pieces.Â
As a family-owned business, our genuine care comes through by refusing to put out any jewelry that we wouldn’t want to wear ourselves.Â
